Happy it was able to help you out!

If it's nice and cold, I would leave it. The last time my cousin tried to top off his AC, it overcharged and blew a bunch of refrigerant out. Granted this was on his Durango, but regardless of the car I like to play it safe when it comes to AC.

Okay , 78-46 is 32F delta. A bit low but if you weren’t holding 1500 rpm or more, recirc on, blower at 3/4 the delta will fall.

Two cans is 680g charge, full is. Usually 750, so it’s a sensitive process to tune the last bit of charge to squeeze out the last bit of performance

Drive it and enjoy it for a bit first.

I just returned 2 cans to Walmart for the same reason. I will speculate that the new self sealing top is the problem.
I bought 4 and 2 worked, 2 didn't

You need the adapter to use those cans. I believe I posted a link a page or two back. https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/int ... lsrc=aw.ds

I used one to successfully add R-134A to my car, which promptly escaped through the evaporator core into my cabin. Still smells like refrigerant.
Once I replace that I should finally have AC in my R!

You gotta test these systems with vacuum first, BDub.

Im going to be recycled URO parts by the time this is relevant but you and your kids are going to be in a world of hurt if ozone levels get fubarred.

Put vacuum on it, let it sit overnight, and don't charge until it will hold 28 inches vacuum overnight.

Yeah, I vacuumed it but I wanted to find the leak by adding UV dye. Unfortunately it took down a can before the leak presented itself.

Oh yeah, I’m at a point where I don’t like using many harsh chemicals just to protect my own health. I hope to have a long healthy life ahead of me, and I don’t want to ruin it with brake cleaner fumes (which I probably use way too much) and heavy degreasers, among other things. It’s just a shame safer cleaners like simple green don’t work better. I’d happily pay more for cleaners that actually WORK that are environmentally safe and won’t give you cancer!
That said I definitely don’t want refrigerant leaking in my car or anywhere!
At least it’s not as bad as R-12! Fortunately I’ve never had the pleasure of working with that stuff.

Acetone is widely useful and the least offensive/harmful of the organic solvents. Be VERY careful with it around painted surfaces.

r134a is completely odorless, you're smelling the PAG oil.

Ah, that's what it is then. It smells like a zoo or some brands of hydrocortisone... disgusting.

It's time to check a/c charge. The dynamic reading with warm engine at the lower port is 32psi.

With a/c running, the needle dances between 44 – 28psi with compressor working. Cool air is flowing in from the center vent.

Do you recommend adding little r134?
