I've had this weird issue with my S60 since picking it up for next to nothing about a month ago. It'll start, but then it stalls out immediately. If I rev it a little for a few seconds, it'll settle out and idle normally. I have a few codes, but I want to get a new battery before diagnosing this any further. Plus my VIDA stopped working... again...
Does this sound like an ETM issue? The only ETM-related code I have is ECM-902A (communication with throttle unit- signal missing). I also have a code with no description, which is ECM-6440- signal too high. Apparently this is for the VVT/cam reset valve.
I hear the VVT solenoid/valve click once the idle settles out, which is why I think that may be the problem (as well as the fact that the code is present). It's the original one, not the updated style with the newer connector.
I also have two other codes, CEM-1A5C- communication with UEM control module- signal missing, and ABS-0070- pump motor faulty signal. Not sure if those have anything to do with this problem or not.
Currently I'm getting an immobilizer message on the DIM, so I'm going to try to figure that out first. I figured it would be better to work on my other junkers for a few days before tearing back into this one!

Get a Flathead screwdriver and/or a 7mm socket handy and check the tubing from the MAF to the throttle body, and check for any leaks or if anything is loose, and if so, then tighten the clamps. Hell, smoke a cigarette into the intake and see if it comes out somewhere.
At least for the first part, that is what happened to me when I was working on mine and the pipe to the throttle body was completely loose. But for the other stuff, gonna have to wait for other peoples response.

I'll have to double check the hose going into the throttle body, I haven't checked that yet. There were quite a few loose things on this car when I bought it, so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the problem.
It runs smoothly once I get it going though. Even seems to boost okay with the 16t I installed.
