S80 Instrument Cluster Randomly Turns Off & On

My instrument cluster will just turn off randomly for long intervals while driving and then randomly back on.

The bottom right stays on with the check engine light area, but everything else goes to off.

What would cause this?

My 2003 V70 had a similar problem. Issue was solder joints on circuit board. Apparently, Volvo swapped from lead solder to silver solder and had issues with early units. I had mine rebuilt for about $200.
