The 03 S80 for my freshman son is also staying home. He did not finish my driving classJune wrote: ↑23 Jul 2019, 17:46
BTW I have custody of the C70 for the next year as she cannot have a car on campus for her first year at her new university. Stupid rule if you ask me.
Keep your S80, the 2000 S70 is fine but the P80 is clunky compared to a P2 car and the 3.2 is underpowered in the XC90. June
I didn't care for the overall feel of 2 - XC90's I test drove last year with the 2.5 and 3.2 motors. The handling seem off on both and not very smooth. I also test drove an 06 S80 2.5 and like it although it was not that quick either but sufficient. Thanks, going to keep the 03 S80 though I keep thinking there must be another greener pasture/platform out there

No greener pastures exist in Volvo at least. The 98 to 05 S80 T6 (my understanding 06 dropped T6) was Volvo's pinnacle model. Over the years I drove them all either as service loaners or test drive thinking of purchasing. The V8 S80 had good power, but only available as AWD and engine not Volvo. Also V8 tightly fit into the engine bay. Not to mention the 07 up 3.2 and V8 models drive like a Taurus with a front heavy feel. So I kept the S80 T6. The 3.0 T6 and 3.2 engines have that READ mess and rear timing chain not to mention the 3.0 T6 had bad turbo lag our 2.9 twin charge engine do not. The big "scare" of the Hydramatic 4T65 is just ignorance in my opinion keeping Volvo enthusiasts stuck in 850 land, wishing for more power modifying their 5 cylinder endlessly, when Volvo made it T6! My daughter wants my T6. She can pry the keys from my lifeless hand. LOL! Who knows it might have a million miles by then.MoVolvos wrote: ↑23 Jul 2019, 21:55The 03 S80 for my freshman son is also staying home. Now the upcoming all electric models might just be the replacement for the T6. As I have driven a couple of Tesla cars and they are quick! June
