Hello all,
I was planning to flush the transmission fluid on my 07 S60 2.5T and was really surprised when I saw this 5 point bolt because I was expecting a torx screw rather. First time I see a 5 point bolt on a Volvo. Do you all think this is original or it could be the previous owner changed it maybe after stripping the torx screw? Any idea what size of 5 point socket this is? Thank you.

It is a good thing you ask.
If you ever remove that bolt, you WILL regret BIG time.
For my 2004 V70 2.5T:
Drain: 24-mm bolt.
Fill is via dipstick tube. I posted the trick using the long funnel (search forum).

cn90, thanks for your reply.
I also have a 07S60R and that one doesn't have a dipstick tube so I thought this one would also have a fill screw just like the R and I noticed this bolt
I just looked for the tube and located it. Thanks again.

IPD shows an 07 S60R has the TF-80SC AWD (6 Speed). The 2.5T has the AW55-5X.neworleans wrote: ↑28 Jul 2019, 20:24 cn90, thanks for your reply.

Just in case it was not made clear in the comments above. The bolt, which was changed to a specialized 5 sided bolt to discourage removal, is not for a transmission oil fill hole cover, but retains a ring within the transmission. When unbolted, the ring can rotate out of position and require transmission removal and renovation.
Fortunately, some have found a way to rotate the ring back without removal but I would not want to risk it:

Not trying to be a wise guy here. But that 5 point bolt means that they don't want you to take it out. It holds the bands for the transmission in place... WARNING !WARNING! DANGER WILL ROBINSON DANGER!
