It's the cylinder on the front left side of the seat. It should have a metal plate just ahead of the cylinder. The front of that plastic control panel cover clamps onto it. It doesn't appear to be pictured in your post.

And somebody shooting video.
Ya know, for insurance purposes... ;)
Right... I might just start throwing rocks until it hits it hard enough. The junkyard employees sure will be confused when it appears there was a collision within their lot

in a flying saucer shaped can on the outer SIDE of the seat.
IIRC, it’s an inch or two in diameter and maybe an inch thick.

It blows a small charge under impact that
travels up a small tube to the side bag. Hit it, you’ll know!
Ah yes now i know what you are talking about. Not the face of that object, but the underside of that object has a dent in it about the size of a flathead tip that hit it. Not me of course.

It’s NOT electric. At All. Honest.

Think of a shotgun shell with a remote primer.

The “actuator” cartridge is the “primer” and it connects
to the powder charge in the “shell” by way of the hollow
tube between them.

The bag is the the “shot” in the shell.

Side impact triggers the “primer” and Blamo!

bmdubya1198 wrote: 30 Jul 2019, 12:17 That's a great idea, I've wanted to do this for a while. It would make a super comfortable chair!

Here are the diagrams for the seat heater as well as the power seats.
Ok i just downloaded and took a look at those diagrams. Not being picky at all, just not what i expected. That is a very confusing diagram. Basically what im looking for (if i can figure out how to attach the pic) is something like this...
I understand it is a pic of HU wiring for an 01 v70, but that is the example diagram of what im looking for pertaining to the power seat wiring.

Yeah, I can't say I've seen a diagram like that for the seats unless someone has made one. Just follow the colors for each connector for the seats. The second page should show which connector is which, and you should be able to sort of piece it together from there.
Unless of course the wires are different colors from the seat to the vehicle harness connector... I could take a look on my car at some point and confirm.
