2005 S60 Side Mirror Very Shaky At Highway Speeds

Post by Dembezuma »

My passenger side mirror is very shaky at highway speeds. It is just the actual mirror that shakes and not the entire casing. If I take off the shell of the mirror would I find a screw or two that needs to be tightened?

More likely some plastic support pieces are cracked or broken. Only way to know it to take it apart. I don't recall how they are put together color wise, but it may be possible to source the parts you need from any S60 motor and just use your correct color shell.

If you are the only driver a short term fix would be to use some clear silicon, once it is in the proper spot for your driving, and seal it in that position.

Or it's the glue holding the glass in place it's not uncommon for it to fail. I've had to glue both mine back on. One was in the driveway one morning. The other started wobbling when I was driving, stopped and touched it and it fell off.

Rattnalle nailed this one. Failing glue. Happens all the time. Jump on it immediately, or you could lose the mirror glass -- don't ask me how I know this. . . .
