Approx cost of windshield replacement

Safelite installed Fumayo (Chinese) glass in my ride. No problem w/r/t optical quality and the rain sensor works perfectly, so I think it all boils down to the technician doing the install. Durability remains to be seen, but I'm not seeing stone chips so far.

As far as insurance, glass coverage, deductibles, etc. Since car insurance rates in NJ are insane, I only carry liability on cars over 10 years old. For me, it just doesn't make sense to pay the outrageous premium increment for comprehensive. Thus far, I've been the one getting hit and not doing the hitting, so it has worked out for me. Deer are a different story, however. . .
