I drain and refill the usual 3.2 liters of ATF yearly. Every year, there is some sludge and small metallic particles/flakes on the drain plug's magnet. The ATF, although pretty red, has a greyish metallic sparkle in the drain pan.
The car has 200.000 miles and I drive approx 5 to 8.000 miles a year with it. Tranny shifts great.
Is this normal wear for a well maintained car or is this something to worry about?
quick AT/ATF question Topic is solved

Normal.
These cars don't really have ATF filters, so as the miles add up, bits of metal wear/tear add up and create an exponential cycle of wear. I've been using a Magnefine inline filter on mine that features more powerful magnetic filter and to a paper element. In my mind, it's far better to have that stuff removed instead of just building up and creating more wear.
I wouldn't worry. You're already doing far better than most people with those regular drain and fills.

ecbsykes, what size Magnefine filter did you use, and where did you install it?ecbsykes wrote: ↑10 Aug 2019, 16:01 Normal.

3/8" and it's installed on the transmission return line (from the radiator cooler).Eddystone wrote: ↑11 Aug 2019, 05:23ecbsykes, what size Magnefine filter did you use, and where did you install it?ecbsykes wrote: ↑10 Aug 2019, 16:01 Normal.
