The Magnetti Marelli ETM. Which cars have it?

Do you have a failing Electronic Throttle Module? What steps to take if you do, plus the latest ETM news. Volvo 1999-2002 models only please.

Missed your post. XeModex do great work but postage is the limiter. IPD stock XeModex throttles as I said. If you want to use a white label to send to XeModex it makes no difference; XeModex address all the inherent weaknesses whether white or yellow label.

Volvo's rebuilt units can be as early build as 1999 and I don't know what exactly they do to the throttles apart from the contactless conversion as it's a "trade secret"

Those guys use your Dice and their special connection software.

Enjoyed all the comments. I have a 2002 V70 Base and the Magneti Marelli number is 8644345 65CFM9. I am not sure which number is the most important. I think the 8644345.. My issue is finding one? There are many that are a digit off: 864436 or 8644347 Do I need an exact match? Some say to check the vin number and if the 5th and 6th are 61 then it should be compatable??
Thanks
John

The current replacement part number for your throttle is 36050564

Many parts suppliers say they are supplied unprogrammed however in my experience all were supplied ready to go

Actually, does not matter part-number, more important are soft-numbers.

For a 2002 non turbo the ONLY throttle from Volvo factory that has a chance of a sw match is the one I provided unless you buy a used one from a 2002 non turbo.

VIN may have a bearing. More important is engine type and year. John your car has a B5244S which is also shared with 2000 and 2001 MYs however Volvo had a sw update for the 2002 MY for the ETM.

And yes I agree sw numbers are the most important thing however without Dice diagnostic that is a pointless discussion.
