2010 S80 3.2L 99K miles
Throwing a service transmission urgent message on dash. Stuck in 3rd gear limp mode.
OBD shows P0700 Transmission Control System (MIL request)
EOBD shows P0965 Pressure Control Solenoid "B" Control circuit range/performance.
Cleared code and it immediately came back.
Anyone had low fluid cause anything similar?
Could a swap of the actual solenoid be worth a shot?
point me in the right direction please

Can you explain "IMMEDIATELY"?
When was the last ATF change?
Are you reading from VIDA DiCE?

immediately meant 3 seconds after next start up cycle after clearing the code.
P0965 was from a Sollus Edge reader ($5000) not vida dice
No previous ATF change (99k miles), and my Volvo tech says the dealership trashed their ATF machine because it created more problems than it was worth, and he doesn't recommend changing it.

Unless someone says otherwise, 3-second detection is an electrical issue.MrBreeze wrote: ↑27 Aug 2019, 04:37 immediately meant 3 seconds after next start up cycle after clearing the code.

Start with changing fluid and set the level -- use Volvo specified fluid.

So on a whim, I took my code reader to the S80 again, to verify the 3 second delay. Showed the P0700 MIL request again, cleared it, and lo & behold the Trans warning is gone. Have driven about 4 miles on a test drive to see if it would come back, not yet.
Wanted to know is there a way to ADD some trans fluid? Going to to attempt to get a reading on the fluid level as well. Thinking if the pressure solenoid threw the code, it may be low on fluid? Not going to drive too much until I have this info.
