Is there a low fuel warning light? 89 740 Turbo

Hi guys, neither the gas gage, nor odometer work on my 89 740. Is there a warning light that lights up when the tank is almost empty?

hi, I think that if non of your gauges are working that means the sensor is malfunctioning, you do have a low fuel light but because the gauges are not functioning correctly I doubt that the low fuel light well work. What I did was use the little trip calculator and said like fuel up every 250 miles or so. Hope this helps

The odometer doesn't work, because the speedometer doesn't work. The trip guage doesn't work either. The guy I bought the car from said that there was a light and it worked, I was just checking if there really was a light or not because it doesn't come on and go off like all of the other warning lights when you first start the engine.

or when the fuel warning light (later models) comes on.

The '91 and '92 models have a different instrument panel to that fitted to your '89 model and there is a specific mention in the book about the low fuel light which is in the fuel guage.

However, as chn718 has stated a low fuel light will not work if the sender unit in the tank is out of commission as it draws its info from that unit.
