I have determined my car needs a new PCV system. I bought the kit. But which parts actually should be replaced? Just hoses or entire thing with breather box? I understand the PCV system is for emissions, per what Robert 'DIY' Spinner says. I understand that a clogged PCV system can cause the front main seal to bust (rarely i heard) and the rear main seal to bust. But what would happen if i drove it with no PCV system? Its a NA (base model) engine.

You can route they crankcase gasses to the road with a tube , otherwise your engine bay gets all oily.

The bad part is you will suck dirt and grit into your engine every time you lift your foot, so that’s hard on the oil and thus the bearings and expensive bits

Your soul will become enslaved as a concubine to the myriad of deceased Prius owners who’ve helped all ecosystems & humanity with their eco-mindedness.

If you already bought all the components, just change it all out. If it’s plugged, you will have oil leak(s), best case scenario. Worst case, you’ll lose oil PSI completely. <— This is NOT a good thing.
