Speed Sensitive Rack?

Folks,

Need to replace my steering rack and trying to figure out if I've got the speed sensitive version. This is for a 2006 V70 normally aspirated 2.4L.

The number on the Product ID plate is 1812X2717031. Does anyone know of a source on the web for a cross-reference across the years?

Look up th decoder for the VIN and product plate for P2, one of the product plate codes has rack iinformation

Most surely you won't have it on the base engine. But look with a flash light right at the rack area for a wire connector - that would be the ss sensor. Usually I think only on XC90, R models as well as Titanium models. https://www.nadaguides.com/Cars/Volvo/S60

Back again. I had purchased seemingly the right rack off eBay but it was damaged and they refunded the cost. I've found another one from a 2008 S60 and considering purchasing. The eBay compatibility guide suggests it works with my car, but looking to double check. The part number is 30793300.

If I look at VIDA, it suggests a whole bunch of part numbers but not that specific one.

This is the standard rack, no speed sensitive steering. Anyone know if the base rack was the same across V70's and S60's (FWD) between 2006 and 2008? VIDA seems to consider 2000-2008 the same generation

The supposed speed-sensitive rack I recently ordered from eBay showed up 1) in a plastic bag (!) and 2) as a non-speed sensitive rack. The journey continues. The application of the bar code stickers to prevent the tie rods from breaking through the bag were a nice touch, but ultimately unsuccessful.

It’s just not a place to source auto parts unless it’s a place with a real presence and uses eBay as a portal, IMHE.

Agree, but sadly this is a real place.that does as you say. The first rack I received was a thing of beauty, just the wrong kind. I believe that others in this forum have suggested a place in PA (name escapes me right now) so I'll look in that direction moving forward.
