In New Zealand new cars require a yearly check and once a vehicle is over 5 years old it is checked every 6 months - all details are on a database and a sticker is then placed on the windscreen when it is next due. It is illegal to operate a vehicle on the road without a current warrant if fitness (WOF) and yearly registration ( oddly we don’t require a driver to be insured ????)
No emission testing yet just entirely mechanically sound , safety items are working and all lights are correct and level. If I was to change to 320mm brakes or to increase tire size more than 10%,uprate turbo or change anything that the car didn’t have from new I require certification - a full in depth inspection $$$$.
Yet no compulsory insurance ? You can’t sue here either. Your insurance company pays for you and then goes after the other guys company or goes after them privately. We have a national health Corp that covers any injuries ( you can come for a vacation and if you injure yourself or have a heart attack we will cover you !!!)

Gotcha. I have experience with something similar yes. Here though, all we have to worry about is emissions.

Steve, that sounds like a longish tow. All we'd have to do is change the head gasket on my old R engine and you could drop 305 ponies in her and have a sleeper😜

It’s killing me To part this one out with the shape the body is in but it’s not economical to restore at this point.

I have three locals with Stone Black V70s so the parts cache has good value

I cant imagine I’ll cash out as well as I did on the 99 but If I do, I’ll send bucks back to last owner since he let it go cheap after taking parts too. Last one I got lucks and sold all the metal for about 4x Harry’s prices in week one, engine And trans in week two. I never even got them off the trailer.

Man, I still have tons of stuff from my 850. That part out was slow going. Fortunately I didn't pay anything for the car, so I didn't care too much... I really should have taken the cat and transmission out of it though, I sold the shell with the block and transmission still attached for $80. My cousin got that for just the cat out of his S70 the other day!

Tried fixing my washer fluid light staying on this morning, without any success. Sensor might be faulty.

I then decided to mount the stock rear springs I got with the car when I bought it, instead of the cheap lowering one currently on the car.

Get one in, lower the car back onto the ground...it sits even lower :?

After a bit of help from facebook folks and google, it appears my car was originally fitted with Nivomats  I thought the nivo springs were thinner than the ones I had...
To justify the 2h spent working on this I at least got the adjustable spring perches unstuck, no more Cali lean

Also took a picture which I think looks quite good, thanks HDR mode :P

Picked up some Atlantis wheels from the junkyard today. I was going to put them on my R, but I don't know yet.
