Brighter lows?

In the winter climates, you need the heat of the bulb to keep the lens clear of snow, leds won’t provide this.

If you have headlight washers those will perform that function

Leds also won't give a correct beam pattern for lows. Even tiny differences from how the filament in the halogen bulbs look ruins the beam. Same with HID. This is unless you fit a aftermarket projector lens optimised for a different kind of bulb in there of course.

should work well for you. That's assuming you don't have faded plastic lenses, in which case replacement is called for (polishing is pretty much pointless even if it LOOKS perfect, it isn't).

Focusing on Kelvin is generally pointless too. I think the highest you really want to go is around 4000-4200 before you start harming your nightvision without appreciable improvement in what you see. CRI is generally shite in car bulbs too, mostly because it's not particularly conducive to safety to have a higher CRI in the bulbs.

Aiming your lights is vital too - though even my local dealer says "we put it up against the wall", which is bullshit, but good luck finding a shop with proper aiming machinery.


OR - if you need to replace your headlamps anyway, get the European ones where you have an H7 in the low and you have a better selection of bulbs to stick in there.
