Coolant water pipe gasket

Post by Pretribrapper »

Changed my starter and noticed that I have a small coolant leak by the pipe that connects to the motor. I ordered a new gasket but noticed a rubber o ring about an 1.5" rubberpiece under my car after I put car back together and I wondered if there was actually supposed to be a rubber gasket used with the main gasket. See pics. Basically I just want to know is this the only gasket I use for this coolant pipe or was a rubber o ring also supposed to go on this gasket??

Just the gasket, PN 30720318. Bolts are M8, torque per VIDA is 24Nm (18 ft lb).

Post a photo of the o-ring if you get the chance, maybe someone can spot where it goes (if indeed it's for your vehicle).

Here is the pic of the o ring I found in my drip catcher under the vehicle. Trying to figure out where its from. Found after I replaced the starter originally
