2000 c70 in-uniform clunk from engine

Hey guys, have used this site to rebuild my c70 and get her running again, really appreciate the help.

So a little back story, the oil cooler was leaking oil into water so I blanked it off and removed the cooler(silly me), of course this sprung the low oil pressure light. I packed up and went to bed.
In the morning the wife took the car to the supermarket and back without knowing. The car was making some very load clunking noises when she accelerated. She woke me up and I got to work.

After re fitting the oil cooler the oil light went out as expected but the noise stayed. It sort of sounds similar to cvvt hub chatter on cold start up. But it happens when you sharply press the accelerator or sharply take your foot off.

I am leaning towards the hub is still dry, maybe blocked or maybe damaged from the drive with no oil being able to circulate.

The noise appears to be coming from the exhaust cvvt hub area of the engine, however I got in there with my stethoscope and I could hear the clunking from the turbo also. One of these 2 I’m guessing,

Don’t let me tunnel view you though, it could be anything. Please refer to the video I have attached, you can hear it a little, it’s alot worse in person.

Oh crap. The oil cooler is a full flow type so blocking it off was a really bad idea. Or, at least, runningthe engine after this was a bad idea. If you get away with just a hub I think you will have done well
