Replacement B5254T4

Post by Pussi »

I'm in need of a full engine replacement for my -04 R. My R is Geartronic model and so far I have only found replacement engines that are from manual cars. Is there some crucial difference ie. engine mounting points? As far as I know, the flywheel from "manual" engine needs to be replaced with flexplate from current "automatic" engine. Should the flywheel/flexplate operation be simple or is there differences in the crank for example?

Thanks in advance!

Someone has to look up the crankshafts of both engines and see if the part numbers differ.

I have VIDA so I checked them and they are same. The replacement engine is from S60R, but if I interpreted VIDA correctly, the engine mounting is all the same. Sorry that checking with VIDA did not come to my mind earlier.
