I went to start my S70 today to find out it was dead where it was parked i couldnt jump it, or at least i thought at the time
i grabbed another battery which was a good battery.
Hooked it up backwards for not even a minute at first by the time i realized it.
I pushed the car to where i could just jump it cause i was sick of fiddling with the battery went to start it and blew the starter fuse. i replaced it check all my wires and checked all my other fuses tried starting it 2 times with the jumper cables on the car then 3-4 times without.
every time i try to start it i blow the same fuse, ive tried slightly larger fuses and everything.
ive pulled the battery out completely and tried a different one i am just stuck at this point.
1998 s70 starter fuse keeps blowing

Hooking up the battery backwards usually causes damage to the alternator diodes and several other electronic modules. I'll try to find a post where all the damage was documented and link.
A good Volvo specialist is needed here if you can't find the affected relays or aren't at home with a voltmeter. That will get expensive, as in 10 hours or more, so it would pay to learn the basics and do this yourself.

Check (replace or jump) the J relays first, that often solves it.
