1990 240 No Fuel Pump Buzzz

So my fuel pumps arent turning on UNLESS I put a jumper wire from fuse #6-4. I've read this is a common way to limp your car home. Well, I'm home now what? Can someone give me some diagnostic tips on what wires to check for power/ground? I put a new fuel pump relay (the one under the glovebox) in and still no buzzing. Your help is much appreciated.
