'06 V70 NA throttle response

Post by GlennG2759 »

I recently replaced timing belt, upper/ lower torque mounts and right side lower mount. I did all the work at the same time. I noticed a significantly better throttle response at all rpm ranges. Is this because all of above parts being replaced. Does timing belt stretch enough over time, that performance improves when installing a new one or am I just experiencing the placebo effect. Just wondering. Thanks Glenn

You may have jumped a tooth on time? you get about three teeth before damage so most will only notice it off the line.

These old Volvo's just "know" when you've been in there 'investing' in them. Get the job right & they tend to reward you, as you noticed, occasionally

The belt does not stretch, but as above, might have been a timing issue
