I'm trying to track down the cause of some tire wear on my 2000 V70XC.
The last set of relatively inexpensive tires lasted 40,000 miles, not too bad but they did suffer some uneven wear on the inside. These tires are from the left/driver side but both sides look about the same.
I've been rotating the tires and was not paying close enough attention so I'm not sure if the uneven wear is coming from the front or back.
I did an inspection off all the suspension components front and rear and have found:
Front lower control arm bushings are a bit worn and due for replacement, I assume these are the main culprit.
Everything in the rear looks great except for this one bushing on the control arm is starting to separate:
Is this bushing replaceable? If so has anyone had any luck tracking down the part and doing the job?

I may be wrong, but if I recall correctly that bush is NLA as is the one on the end of the upper control arm. However, do check the bush at the front of that trailing arm as they do go bad and separate.

Re: 2000 V70XC Uneven tire wear/Rear Control Arm Bushings
Thanks! I checked around and you are right that bushing on the end of the control arm is no longer available. Too bad, but the current bushing isn't completely gone so I'll worry about that later!
I took a closer look at the bushing at the front of the trailing arm: Not perfect but stiel feels pretty solid and I cant get any unusual movement from it.
The car sits visually level front to back and left to right. Is there a better way to check for this?
New front lower control arms on the way, I'll keep a closer eye on tire wear and see where it comes from if it returns.

How do you go about checking if a spring is sufficiently weak to cause this problem? Might be happening to my car too.
