No power to sunroof, trunk, vanityh lights, locks 99s80

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Help! All of a sudden I don't have power to locks, sunroof, vanity lights, trunk. I have checked the fuses and all appear fine. Anyone have another idea of what my problem might be?

Did you check all three fuse boxes? Go here for locations so you can check all the fuses: Fuse locations.

Thanks so much for the detailed layout of where to find the fuses. I actually checked all three boxes and none of the fuses were blown. I haven't had power to any of these ares for three days. Tonight I get in my car and all of a sudden all the powered items are working again. Strange. My concern is using the sunroof b/c if it gets stuck in the open position and then it rains I'm done for!

Sounds like it could be a loose connection or a bad relay, then.

I don't have a wiring diagram to show the specific relay, but according to the above link, there are relays in the engine compartment and trunk fuse boxes.

These are the relays fitted to the '99 S80. There is no mention of a relay for the sunroof. The only two items listed for the sunroof are the control unit and the motor, both of which are in front of the sunroof opening.

By the items that went AWOL I would suggest that you have a wiring fault rather than a relay problem but I need more time to research that.

The majority of the items that failed are covered by fuses 27 & 28 in the passenger compartment fuse box. The exception is the trunk, but as you did not specify what had gone wrong with the trunk I am assuming the locks.

Those two fuses receive their power from the engine compartment main fuse box fuse #4. It is possible that there is or has been a poor connection at this fuse and it is worth checking.

My 2001 S60 sometimes freaks out and I think the alarm is what blocks the power to my power locks, sunroof, trunk, etc..... It is annoying but I stop the car remove the key replace and remove and hit the unlock and then lock on the control. Basically play with everything until the locks start working and when they work so does everything else. My car sometime is possesed I am sure......maybe in its prior live it was an Yugo. hahahahah.....

You need to take your key place it in the drivers door and cycle it through a few times. It will fix your problems. Your car isnt crazy, it just follows your commands, like a good volvo should! ;)
