New Owner V70R Problem

Hey all,
Just switched forums cause I bought a 06 v70r! I have a problem with it though and I don’t really know where to start. When under boost and decent to heavy acceleration it feels like the car is missing terribly or the transmission is falling out of gear and snapping back in fast. (I don’t think it’s the trans but that’s the best analogy of the feeling I can get.)
Any suggestions on where to start first?

mileage ?
repair history ?
fuel pump/filter ? The filter is very easy to change ! Right up there with the old VW air cooled engine fuel filters ..many had two in the engine compartment .
plugs ?
I do see a ''major tune up'' in your future .. even if tune ups are a thing of the past .
Do go over the engine completely .. has this ever been done (repair history) .?.
Its a Volvo , not a Honda ….

What Earthworm said. We need more info.

Whatever the case, you have two choices.

1. Shooting blindly by replacing parts, or

2. Stage 0 it and remove all variables (well, most), so that you're shooting at logical targets.

Here's my 2004 V70 R Major Service list, which is a Stage 0 tailored to a P2 R.

I shoulda included some more details but it has 188,000
I don’t really have service records from the dealer I bought it from.
And it threw the code P0170 and then that went away now. I’m going to check the coils today and maybe buy a fuel regulator to start off.

There is also oil collected on the timing belt and around the spark plug area

Just replaced the fuel pressure sensor, checked the coils, and I’m going to replace the spark plugs next. It is stuttering still so the fuel pressure sensor was good.

188xxx and oil present would make me think plug wires. Have they ever been changed? I've seen old oil soaked plug wires idle and part throttle well and everything falls apart under a load. Cap would also be suspect because it might have oil in it.
Stage 0 and go from there.
