"Extra" things to do during a fan blower replacement

Post by Ivok »

My climate fan/blower will be replaced on October 10 on my 2012 S60 T6 AWD. Since this involves removing the dash and other things, there will presumably be an opportunity to check or fix things that would normally be inaccessible. Any ideas on how best to use this opportunity?

Look for mice hiding behind there 👍🤪
I don't know about the newer cars, but the old ones have problems with the ac motors directing air here and there. If u have a big wallet maybe replace them?

Yes I know that. Besides the blower there are small motors called damper motors (I think) that open/closes flaps so air is directed on your feet e.g.

:) Thanks, I didn't know about those. I'll check that out and discuss it with the service manager. Thanks again!

You could consider replacing the resistor too. And replace the cabin air filter.

Done yet? Always check the drain hoses... easy to dislodge.
