I hope they put the best body person on that job, cause if it isn’t perfect June will let them know.
I also hope he checks his pockets for screwdrivers.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Got my Powerflex bushings in the mail today, decided to install the upper one at 7:30 (car is a daily and I need it tomorow)
Took me an hour and a half, and I can definitely feel the difference compared to the old beaten up bushing !

Side effect is that now the exhaust is making much more of the typical 5 cylinder noise

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Stopped at Moms to help someone with top strut bearing change, got caught up in job, and ran the T5 out of gas for the first time in its life. Bad Volvo owner
I keep a gas can at Moms, so no walk of shame.
Added a quart of oil at 2500 since last, and checked #3 spark plug , had0.032 gap at 24,000 miles

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
That reminds me, I changed my oil and oil cooler o-rings yesterday (hopefully those will stop leaking now). The filter was nastier than I had ever seen before... even the filter I took out of this car last change wasn't nearly this bad. Big spot of sludge in the canister... easier to see on the filter itself.
My theory here is that my aggressive driving churned all of that nasty crap loose after all these years and miles of this car being babied/neglected. This explains why it didn't look as bad last go around... the last change was after I did the manual swap, and I had never driven the car at that point. The first time I drove it was after the swap, along with LOTS of other work. Now it's had 3.5k miles of spirited driving and hard testing to diagnose boost issues, but now that's pretty much sorted out (thank goodness!).
Two owners ago used it to shuttle their kids around (as evidenced by the stickers, corn dog stick with the batter still at the bottom, and other fun stuff I found while cleaning the car immediately after buying it) and they had it for a while, so I assume it's lived an easy hard life. I say easy and hard together because driving a car like this and never revving it out is awful for it (or any car, really)... I just don't get what people don't understand. Let your engines breathe! You don't have to beat on it, but rev it out once in a while. You don't have to be like me and rev out each gear to 6k RPM at least once daily
.
Rant over.

Cover your eyes , June.
Bmdub, up your oil change interval to 3000 miles until that cleans up, maybe use the Bell Engineering flush on each oil change until that cleans up? I’ll guess 2-3 oil changes and you will be good.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
That's the plan! This was only 3,500 miles, and I'm glad I didn't push it to my usual 5,000 after seeing this mess.
I'll look into this Bell Engineering stuff. I definitely wouldn't mind trying an engine flush, but I want to use a proven product that won't damage anything... no seal swelling agents to ruin all my new seals! My turbo is probably at the end of its life too, but I don't want to speed up that process... I need to save a few bucks for the hybrid K24 I have planned.

I finished the first front door!
I was quite thorough and even used new butyl tape for the weatherpanel. Want everything as quiet as possible

Did the oil look different as it was pouring out of the drain plug? Or was the only evidence of this sludge on the filter and in the housing?
I might have to cut open some filters to check mine as I have the older style metal canister filters.
