Hello all, I recently replaced the front lower subframe (and installed an IPD front swaybar) on my S60 2.5T AWD, and I just want to verify torques on the associated suspension hardware before I put these new and quite large bolts in (I sheared the vertical control arm bolt during reinstall so I want to be extra sure of all the torque values this time). I've got a whole new set of bolts/nuts arriving soon. Here's what I've found through browsing, and some values are in disagreement. If anyone can clear this up with a reliable source (VIDA?) I would greatly appreciate it.
Rear (vertical) Control Arm Bolts: Is it 130ft-lbs as in this video at about 15:00:
or is it 105N-m +90degrees as noted in this guide (which is for an XC70): http://www.v70xc.com/0/resources/how-to ... shings.pdf or is it something else? I'm inclined to believe the latter as this is the one I sheared last time around, but I'm unsure which is correct.
Front (2x horizontal) Control Arm Bolts: 37 ft-lbs or 65N-m +90degrees? (same sources as above, so same level of doubt)
4 Subframe Bolts: Apply Torques from Left to Right, 105N-m +120degrees
Ball Joint: 50N-m +40degrees
Sway Bar to End Link: 50N-m
Those last 4 are from here: https://www-volvohowto-com.cdn.ampproje ... cations%2F
Thanks!

Wait until someone with VIDA posts this up, you want to get this right, as in you kill people if you don't.

Still searching for a definitive answer, found this link which also lists 105 N-m and 65 N-m for the rear vertical and 2x front horizontal control arm bolts, respectively, but with different angles (180 degrees and 105 degrees, also respectively). So getting warmer, but no two web sources in 100% agreement so far. Will keep looking unless someone is able to post up some conclusive torque specs here.

Okay, so a more careful read-through and search found that 2 of my sources above actually agree, here and here. Missed one because they call the control arm a "link arm." This is what they say:
Link arm front in sub-frame, front mounting (M12)
1st step: Torque to 65 Nm.
2nd step: Tighten/rotate 105°
Link arm front in sub-frame, rear mounting (M14)
1st step: Torque to 105 Nm.
2nd step: Tighten/rotate 180°
So to re-list them all in one place in the same format as before:
Rear (vertical) Control Arm Bolts: 105N-m +180°
Front (2x horizontal) Control Arm Bolts: 65N-m +105°
4 Subframe Bolts: Apply Torques from Left to Right, 105N-m +120°
Ball Joint: 50N-m +40°
Sway Bar to End Link: 50N-m
Still, if anyone can verify these with VIDA/Haynes etc, that would be awesome and give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about finishing this up instead of an uneasy, dubious feeling... standing by before I execute. If you're able to help me out, thanks very much, and I will get a tattoo of your username etch your username on my airbox or something similar as tribute.

I think VIDA also calls for new bolts on some of these partts, and you can’t just look at them, say “ they look ok” and reuse them. Torque to yield fasteners get stretched past the elastic deformation regime and need to be replaced. IPD , FCP, andVolvo parts store all have these fasteners, which have to be OEM.

I believe it does too, so ordered new stuff from FCP Euro for the ones I didn't have. My list of parts/part numbers might be useful to someone, so here's that:
2x Rear (Vertical) Control Arm Bolts 985226
The two Front (Horizontal) Control Arm Bolts differ by side as they are different lengths:
2x M12 987455 for driver side
2x M12 987456 for passenger side
2x Self locking M14 nut 985660 for both LCA rear bolts
4x Subframe Bushing Bolts 985111

I would like to add a correction for the front control arm rear mounting bolt torque (the large vertical one). In this forum, the torque appears to rather be Stage 1 - 78 lb-ft (105 Nm) Stage 2 - angle tightening 90degrees. This is 90 degrees less than in the comment above. And of course, this is only for a new bolt stretch type, such torque cannot be used on old bolts or it will cause them to be stressed.
