2008 Volvo S80 T6 Engine too lean

Volvo owners/enthusiasts:

Just bought a 2008 Volvo S80 T6 a few months ago and in the last week I’ve got a lot of issues. After pulling the check engine codes, (P0171) it’s clear I’ve got some issues. Additionally, I’ve got a horrendously noisy belt. My husband insisted on doing the repair...wait for it...until he got into the car and noted how close this belt is to the air compressor. In his words “It’s so crampy in there, I’m not sure I can even get a tool in there to pull the pulley off.” I originally stated I would like the shop that took care of my LAST Volvo (2001 s40) to do the repairs and he’s bent out of shape about the cost of labor. But I said it at the beginning and I just don’t think we have what we need to repair this on our own. That said: Any fellow s80 owners in this year (or similar) have any light to shed on a) the difficulty of repairing at home or b) an idea what it might cost to repair?

Even if you don't get a DiCE Unit, get and install VIDA 2014D_Repack. It has tons of information, including repair instructions. Vida-DiCE is also the best code reader you can get for that car. It will tell you way way more then that generic code reader you are using.

DiCE units are ~$75 - $100 on eBay. Don't buy from the "vendors" that are sliding the decimal point one place to the right.
