Suffered my first car prowl last weekend. The driver side rear quarter window (the one with the antenna) was smashed. I was hoping to find one at a junkyard and attempt this repair myself.
Does anyone have any tips on this job? I'm also wondering if the same window from any 2001-2007 v70 would work? I'm not too concerned about the radio antenna.

There are two different part number sets for the rear side windows.
The part numbers change at chassis number 118029 ( - 118028 Δ 118029 - ). Don't know what the difference is.
The chassis number is the last six digits of the VIN number.
Get the glass from a 2001-2007 V70 or XC70 in Same chassis number group as your V70.
You will need new trim.
The Antenna on that window is for Road Traffic Information (RTI) & TV.

Thanks for the help on this.
There is one more thing I'm trying to understand. The window has a rubber moulding/seal that goes around the complete outside edge of the glass. I had thought this was the trim piece, but looking at the trim piece in online catalogs, it simply looks like an overlay which borders the top and forward side of the window. So the question is if the glass comes with the rubber moulding/seal? I don't see any other seals in the Vida part diagram, so thinking the glass comes with the rubber seal already attached and then the trim is separately glued onto the window after being painted?

On the P80 V70s you removed the trim. The glass and rubber seal is just pressed in. Glass and seal came out as a unit.
You have a P2 V70 ... I would think it comes out the same way as a P80 but I cannot say it does.

It is a good start to do it first at the junk yard - no stress and can repeat it several times for trickier jobs

Is this true for 850s also? I have one ready to scrap but was thinking about saving the quarter glass if it isn't too difficult.RickHaleParker wrote: ↑06 Nov 2019, 10:27 On the P80 V70s you removed the trim. The glass and rubber seal is just pressed in. Glass and seal came out as a unit.

Could be similar to the quarter glass for the S70. Remove trim if any and use a piano wire (glass removal tool) to slice the old window adhesive. Clean, prime and apply adhesive. I've replaced a windshield on a 78 Cougar XR7 with my friend who worked at a glass shop and have watched a few windshield replacements up close.greg850r wrote: ↑06 Nov 2019, 19:02Is this true for 850s also?
