Here is a replacement from a re-builder on ebay in the U.K.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Volvo-Turbo-Ac ... #vi-ilComp
Read down to the bottom of the page, they list a testing procedure for the actuator.
If you contact the seller and give them your VIN number, they will be able to tell you if it is the correct fitment for you.

Post #8 is the link to download the 2099 patch (extends the faux subscription to year 2099).wanderdüne wrote: ↑23 Oct 2019, 12:00 RickHaleParker, Is that the link for that download in post #8?
To download and install the Repack. Go to page #6 read the first post for install instructions, the download link in that message is dead.
Go to page page #16 for updated links better yet go to page #22 for instructions on how to download the repack without a clicking on a hypertext link.
The RePack download is a bittorrent. The Magnet Link is: magnet:?xt=urn:btih:1b2995ac6b8926893e3dea41c01ce92208b19c8d

Great, thank you. I will check it out carefully once I get the DiCE.RickHaleParker wrote: ↑23 Oct 2019, 11:38
That is the old kludgy buggy way to do VIDA. Read up on the 2014D_RePack. No VM needed, works with IE11 and I got it working in Google Chrome which bypassed a lot of issues.
Do they still sell the entire unit? Maybe it would be better to buy all the unit instead of just searching for the Turbo Actuator or buy a china knockoff. do you think the china knockoff for the turbo actuator is a good option? I have posted in the forum, but hadn't get any response yet, probably it will take some time or I wasn't clear enough, my english is a bit bad.wanderdüne wrote: ↑23 Oct 2019, 11:48
I just looked on mine, entering just the 2009 D5 profile, and there is not a procedure for changing out just the Turbo Actuator because Volvo changes out the entire unit. There are tests one can do with the DiCE attached to see what is going on, though.
I would advise that since you now know your XC90 is the D5 185 that you post that on the U.K. Volvo forum and see if anyone can advise you on what the procedure would be to replace just the actuator and maybe some feedback on the re-builder company and what other's experiences with them have been.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Oh wow, I saw this yesteday and it had a different price than what it has today. They only have one left, I don't really get the exchange part, though. They will stay with the old actuator to repair it and resale it, am I right?wanderdüne wrote: ↑23 Oct 2019, 12:12 Here is a replacement from a re-builder on ebay in the U.K.

If you want to go that route, the Volvo part number is 36001171. Google " Volvo 36001171" and look at the prices.

Yes, they will charge you an extra fee and refund it when you ship back your old part they receive it so they can refurbish it and resell. That's pretty standard with re-builders.Popvolvo wrote: ↑24 Oct 2019, 08:09Oh wow, I saw this yesteday and it had a different price than what it has today. Without knowing the condition of the turbocharger in your car, it's hard to say if a total replacement is in order. The actuator could have an electrical fault or the worm gear could be damaged/ stripped from buildup in the turbo vanes. If it is physically damaged and needed the turbo rebuilt, then I'd consider an entire unit.
I don't think the knockoff unit is appropriate here because some of the re-builders are claiming their units are plug and play. I don't know that a knockoff would have the right specifications. If I was doing the work, I might risk a knockoff if I could return the part. If I were paying someone to do the work, I'd stick with a new or re-manufactured part. They really do have high regulatory standards for re-building in the E.U.
Yes the turbocharger is available as new at least in Europe.

Sorry for taking some time to reply, couldn't reply these days and I was taking a look at other options I had, Thank you for the code RickHaleParker! I appreciate it.
The concessionaire was selling the actuator "new" for 520 usd, it is pretty expensive for what it is, that's the reason I was searching online. I'll check the option you gave me, wanderdüne.
Thank you for your time!
Knowing this is difficult, apparently most of the mechanics here aren't that good and haven't worked that much with volvo vehicles. So they don't know that much. Also, I have a question, what does it mean "plug and play"? Is that a bad thing?wanderdüne wrote: ↑24 Oct 2019, 11:50 Without knowing the condition of the turbocharger in your car, it's hard to say if a total replacement is in order. The re-builder states that the actuator would need no further adjustments or programing required. Just install it and drive. I do not know if that is the case.
"plug and play" is a phrase meaning that a thing is ready to be used as it is, with no further steps required.
