In Dire Need of throttle Part
Hi,
Bad experience on the highway. The car stopped accelerating.
Need "Throttle body control rod"
1998 v70
I believe the part number is
3507883
Please does anyone have an idea where i can get one?
Volvo dealer in the area said he could not get one.
Thanks very much.

Re: In Dire Need of throttle Part
Had to look that up.

Yea looks like NLA. But this is a low demand part. I'd bet at a pick-n-pull yard it's a part that's more likely to be on a 1993-1998 P80 than taken.

Re: In Dire Need of throttle Part
Hi Steve,
Wow thanks man, how much would he want for the part?
Thanks really.
Really bad experience had my woman friend in the car again when this happened on major HW Rt 287 coming back from, Parsippany the Chiller Expo. She was so upset it was terrible and i barely made it off the highway at idle speed.

Re: In Dire Need of throttle Part
Hello again,
Just one more little question.
Does anyone know of a video or something that shows how to get the old one off and maybe put the new one back on?
I cant seem to find anything like this yet.
Thanks.

Re: In Dire Need of throttle Part
I'd guess you just have to pry it off with a screwdriver.

Re: In Dire Need of throttle Part
Careful with a flat blade screwdriver. Place the flat blade under the edge of the ball socket and twist. It should pop off. Put some silicon spray on the ball part and work it in as this will make it even easier. Question. You ask about removing the old one. Why do you need another, has it broken? Neil.

Actually the ball end that connects to the throttle came off and when put back on it does not stay on it pops right off again.
Whatever holds it on to the ball must have rusted away or something.
Thanks for the reply.

Re: In Dire Need of throttle Part
It's getting cold. I would just take the whole throttle body and control mechanism. Then when it's somewhere warm, Figure out how to get the arm safely off. Shouldn't cost much for the whole thing at a U-pull-it.
