850GLT Drain Holes and Hood Gasket Cips

1. Has anyone put a mesh filter of sorts on top of the Volvo trunk drain holes to prevent leaves/wood etc from going down the holes? If so, how'd you do it?

2. I need all the clips for the large hood gasket. Any suggestions for good ones? Not sure if there are better ones than stock Volvo parts.

1. I'd try to glue the mesh with sealant, shoe goo ir alike.

2. I doubt there is an aftermarket clip. This would be a typical junkyard or dealer item if they still have it.

Yup, definitely something to get either at the junkyard or see if you can order them through Volvo if you don't mind spending a little extra money to have brand new ones.

What hood clips are you talking about? The ones that hold the sound deadening pad to the hood? If so the like the guys said it is a junkyard run or buy from dealer. I did buy some a couple of years ago as non in junkyards locally at the time.

Not the sound pad, just the rubber gasket up front.

The T shaped clips that hold the Sealing strip on are Volvo Part number 9133073. They are Multi Purpose Clips and the same ones used for the sound pad, some models used them on the upper radiator panel.

You can get Genuine Volvo and After Market. The After market are as low as $5.00 for a pack of 25 free shipping. The vendors that have Genuine Volvo are pricing them at $2.50 - $4.00 a clip + shipping.

The Sealing strip used 15 of the clips. Genuine Volvo you are looking at $40 - $60 for something that is out of sight and out of mind. I would go with the After Market. They are good enough for FCP Euro and IPD+ ....

The After Market are push to lock type. That is you put them in the hole them push the pin down to lock them in place.

You can find them on FCP Euro, IPD+, eBay and Amazon, search for 9133073.
