Fuel line check valve

Post by kjhiggins »

I've seen this issue discussed a couple times before here and I've asked this on other forums without getting any help so I thought I'd try asking it here. I'm having the hard cold start issue (see viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80013) indicative of a failed fuel pump check valve. I don't see any other issues with the fuel pump so I don't want to go to the expense or hassle of replacing it without exploring other options. I know older V70 and XC70s have this issue and it was fairly straightforward to put a fuel line check valve in the line near the fuel filter by the tank. Has anyone tried this on a P3 vehicle? I haven't gotten under the car to poke around for a good place to install a check valve and I haven't seen any good diagrams or pictures of the routing of the fuel line so I don't even know if this is possible. Any advice or guidance would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks!
