So the girl beetle is faster than the old air cooled beetles... got it!

Those 1.8s are great engines though. My cousin at the VW dealer loves working on those almost as much as the 2.slow and 2.5!

I replaced the timing belt, front camshaft seal and belt tensioner on the '83 245. Getting it back into main fleet duty after several years parked. Runs well now but needs the flame trap cleaned and hoses replaced. Replaced the instruments with turbo instruments with tachometer a couple weeks ago. Of course I had to adjust the odometer UP to the correct mileage of 257,000.

Beautiful Car. Kind of like June's white S80 T6. Does CA still use the in-ground Dyno rollers on the drive wheels?

I love those old GTIs... I really want a VW. I've been looking at Corrados lately... almost picked one up, but ended up buying the S70 because I have a Volvo addiction!

$30 off a Smog test? How much do they charge you guys for those that they can give you $30 OFF the price? Emissions testing here costs $30. $14 for my Miata and 940 since they're older than '95 and only need safety inspections.

The price was not regulated when I left CA 4 years ago. Anywhere from $80 to $30 dollars plus California Emissions Certificate Fee of $8.25. They always charge more for vans, trucks and SUV's.

$30 for Wake County, NC.

I think so yes, I wasn't paying too much attention though. Where I used to smog they had rollers.
