In the BMW X5 I mentioned above, I used a piece of wood to press the brake pedal halfway down. This will stop brake fluid from dripping. Good trick!
Indeed and good trick to know cn90.

Making progress with PB treatment at the junction - day 5. The suggestion to cut off the rubber hose close enough to fit a socket (14mm) sounds reasonable.

Since the passenger's side hex at either connector is deformed a little, as Tonyx points out -- see pix above -- should it be filed a little and straightened for socket to fit firmly?

The driver's side is untouched, so, I'll start with this side.

The fluid drip prevention trick is proven -- thank you.
But, surgically removing and bubble flaring looks inevitable now.

Removed using cut off tool. Next step repair parts and tools. HFT for tools. Who may have the flare nut?

In the BMW Brake line DIY posted in the first page of this thread, I posted info on line and bolt. The bolt (or nut) is not sold separately. So buy a short line with metric bolts (about $3), cut the end and you have 2 bolts.

Use line with M10 x 1.0 bolt.

Helpful!
It took forever to straighten up the hard line. After few practices, this is progress: I'm assuming dirt entered the line will clear during the bleed steps, yes? Or use a syringe to drain and clear before connecting flex hose?

Push some fluid through the hose before you connect it, you don’t want that dirt in your calipers

- If you have a stick in the brake pedal (to stop fluid leak), remove the stick.
- Brake Fluid will drip down by gravity., only need a few cc of fluid coming out, then good to reconnect.

- Is that factory Bubble Flare or you redid the Bubble Flare?

Leaving the brake pedal depressed for now so I can complete the driver's side. Then remove the stick and let both drip a little.
Redid bubble flare; I had to cut off the end and make new bubble flare using NEIKO tool kit -- thumb hurts. Now counting on new ATE flex hose to make a tight seal.

Working on tube bending skill.

Just get some pipe/tin/ordinance of the same diameter ( a “form”) as the bend you want to make, and roll the pipe over the form.

Work the bends starting as far from the flare as possible.

Antitank shells are perfect as long as you don’t drop them

Make sure the nut is all the way onto the bubble do it doesn’t get trapped behind a bend!
