Long post warning
(Please forgive my English btw
Im a proud 88' 240 owner who is in trouble...
The 240 sedan I bought 5 months ago (a K Jet B200E) turned out to be average when it came to reliability. The stock ignition (TZ28H) gave me quite some troubles (from weird no starts to bad misfire for the first few kms every time it rained).
After a salty bill from my mechanic and some no starts issues a few weeks later, I decided to check it myself. Rotor, cap, coil, plugs and wires were all in good shape. The ignition module tho... Water kept going where it shouldnt (the badly bowed hood isnt helping really) and I had a few "no starts" that I solved by unplugging and cleaning the whole ignition harness (a few connectors really, its basic tech).
After a few weeks of more struggle, I decided to ditch the whole thing and I bought a 123 Distributor from Skandix (the one with 16 curves to choose from). Sadly, I discovered that the unit don't have any proper curves for my engine ! So now I am sending the unit back and buying the Tune version (costs 50 euros more but hey its Tunable !). This allows me to ditch the whole TZ28H system, reducing the number of parts and also getting rid of my bad distributor. My old dizzy had some wobble in the shaft and I discovered that the vacuum cell was broken when disassembling it...
The thing is, im quite new at this whole ignition curve thing and I can't find the proper curve to programm my 123 Tune +...
My distributor is a Bosch 0 237 024 015 (Volvo 1346919, also Bosch 0 986 237 338). I have looked up on the internet for a whole week, asked over at Bosch (still waiting an anwser...)
I have found a curve for the Bosch 0 237 024 013 dizzy (looks close enough with only one different digit).
So, here is my question : how can I can the proper curve, and if not possible, which curve should I use ?
At my knowledge I'm the 1st guy who is trying to swap the whole TZ28H over to 123 Distributor (im also swapping HT leads, coil and redoing the whole wiring harness, better covering it from water)
(Quick edit, I'll make a thread out of this when done with it, I feel like we def need more info on these wonderful 123s)
Thanks yall !
