Old Volvo lasts forever, because its owner has a Stockholm syndrome and, apparently, some decent cash in pockets.

$24k in parts in 7 years.

I can't stand him tbh. Nor mostly any YouTuber really. Though I realise that makes me sound older than I am :-)

But really. It's down to designed life span. When Ford bought Volvo there was a terrible culture clash when they tried to force Volvo to make cars as terrible as the rest of Ford's product portfolio. Ford's reasoning being that cars shouldn't last more than at most ten years because you'd need your customers to buy a new one. Volvo's reasoning was that nobody in their right mind would buy their cars again if they didn't last very long.

Hi Scotty,
Love your videos just bought a 2000 Volvo V70 estate great price and goes well.
Didn't realise Ford had bought Volvo,always meant quality not any more sadly. Now a day's your lucky if a car last 10 years!
