MVS posting standards:Sentences, Paragraphs, Punctuation, No text talk Please

I didn't do well in English at anytime and barely graduated from High School due to that one class. Straight A's in Spanish for 3 years however. Still don't have my AA in Electronics because I didn't take a technical writing class. I never wrote letters to friends or wrote in general till after my 30's. Had this phobia about English and to this day don't know one thing about grammar except a noun is a person, place or thing.

My kids were home-school for many years and were way ahead of me in 6th grade compared to where I was in high school. Ha ha, obviously I didn't home-school them. My wife who was an English major did. I think we should take people's culture and educational background into consideration. If you tried to correct my English I wouldn't be able to understand it anyways as I also have what I believe to be Adult Dyslexia.

Let's give those who aren't able to communicate well a little help by asking them to clarify or send a photo of their problem.

I suffered the same problem as Tom. The only reason I can function in this forum is because I can visualize and have handled what I am reading. I am unable to read history, study math (did well in Geometry because I can visualize), chemistry or any material with numbers and dates, people, places or things. Terrible with maps!

EDIT: NOT Advocating his religion nor the method which helped him. Have not been exposed to it.

We are not grammar Nazis we just expect a reasonable effort, not perfection. You put forth an effort and it is not hard to understand you. It is the lazy ones that are a problem. They do not put forth the effort, instead they dump the work load on others ... get the drift?

It is not hard to separate the lazy from the different.

We keep a tighter ship on grammar here because if people see text talk, it gets normalized.

If one doesn’t want to take the time to write simple noun-verb-object sentences with punctuation , then this isn’t a good place for you..

Unfortunately society has come to that and we (myself included) sorta old timers don't like it. I ask my kids not to use text language when texting besides addressing people. CA has this 3 strikes you're out thingy for criminals. How about 2 strikes before locking someone up, I mean out
