Well, you get a brake service message well before this fails the pump, so I think the design reasonably requires you fix the car when it breaks !

However, the vacuum pump is expensive:
- $200+ at dealer.
- $130 for Hella brand at FCPEuro.

As a public service announcement , P2 owners should but a black zip tie around the vacuum switch to prevent it from spewing its parts all over the engine compartment

I think jimmy has warned us of this

Switch is part number 30645493 , about $80 from our favorite vendors IPD, eEuro, and FCP
