The audio is helpful, it certainly "wants" to start. The bad smell makes me think that it the car is dumping gas into the system? Would a split intake tube leaking unmetered air into the system cause this?
I agree that the battery is turning the car over just fine.
I had an e30 BMW once that had a mystery starting issue that turned out to be a ground cable. The cable was present and looked fine but once I gave it a good tug it just broke off. The Volvo seems to have more redundancy in grounds so I don't know if this would be an issue.
None of the codes from earlier really jump out. Maybe reset all then see what comes back?

Codes don't help with a no-start generally, Codes describe detected running faults, not failed parts.
Is this problem solved or did someone check the green box by mistake?

At the post that started this thread, way back in September, I did a VIDA test am not sure if I did it right. The audio results were not loud enough for my phone to pick up well (had to digitally increase the volume). Wondering how I can do a better test. Any link of a better VIDA system test?

No fuel pump relay on P2s
The ECM and CEM conspire with a small module called thePEM to turn the fuel pump on.
When my PEM went, I had a slight miss at 40 mph or more, then finally, three months later, a crank, no start condition. That would clear and the car would run fine.
