I was under the impression, but ready to be corrected, that one can just swap the skins over (unless it's MY99 in which case they're very different). Can swap the foams too if they're in better nick.

Yes, the seat skins can be transferred over no problem, so long as the donor seat and the old seat are both power/manual due to the seat back being different. Manual seats have a knob for the recliner.
As for the bottom, it's the same regardless of being manual or power.

I think I will just try and swap over the skins if I can't find a set just as good. I would prefer to just swap the seats as an assembly, but the Local Junkyards have either the wrong color or worse than the ones I currently have. I just need to buy a hog ring plier set and some hog rings. Thanks for all the suggestions

You can swap in 1996-1998 skins to the 1999-2000 electronically fired seatair bags just fine

You can attach with zip ties rather than hog rings

If you want to save yourself a “ deskin” you can buy the skins standalone too for about $300 a pair, twoseats

Have had my 98 V70 (165k) for about 8 months. Finally got around to pulling the spark plugs. It has ngk platinum plugs - looks like they have been there a while. Can’t get the original Volvo 4 electrode plugs locally. Has anyone tried the Nickel, 4 electrode NAPA plugs?

Stick with either OEM Volvo or Bosch plugs on these cars.

You can get them in a day from FCP inCT in New England, Bosch Cu plugs are about $2 each

NAPA brand are *probably * made by Federal Mogul, a reputable brand?

Thanks, guess I will order the Volvo plugs. The NAPA plugs are NGK 5767.

Yes, zip ties are much easier than hog rings when installing the seat covers. I've done this multiple times, nobody will know the difference!

Why are zip ties easier? I've always used hog rings and it's quick and easy.
