Key chime stuck on doors won't lock

Hi there, I could use a hand trouble shooting this one. I just performed the hack to disable the wheel lock so the key would turn. I ended up needing to hack into the wheel lock component because it was jammed in the up position with a piece broken on the top. Talking about our 2006 V70 R that left my wife stranded before she could pick up the kids. Spent 2 hours cutting out the plate under the steering colomun and then proceeding to destroy the wheel lock mechanism enough for it to release the ignition cylinder. It worked! And the turning feels better, and the key works fine, where before it felt loose in the tumblers so I guess who needs WL anyhow.



However, the key-in-ignition chime is now not turning off when the key is removed, which wouldn't matter like in my old 850 turbo wagon, but here it prevents the locks from locking, or rather it automatically unlocks the doors!!
Anybody come across this.

I'd consider using some liquid graphite (Ace Hardware has it) to lubricate the pins mechanism.
Just put a drop on the key and insert it.
Sometimes the pin that controls the chime fails to release (stuck in the "key in" position).

Options

1 use a waveguide to channel the EMP from a small atomic bomb ( which we call, a device) to selectively destroy the chime box

2 pull the chime box from the panel. I hope,it isn’t built into a relay. If you can figure out how to program the chime to Taylor Swift , there is a Miata owner here interested in that

In order for the chime to make noise, you need 2 conditions:
1. Door open.
2. The very first pin in the tumbler, once the key is inserted for about 2-3 mm, the chime will sound.

PS: Abscate, when the bottom plate of the tumbler is removed, there is virtually nothing one can nuke at.
