Basically all you are doing is bending that shape - dry fit so it fits into the hangers, while supporting the muffler, and then welding it to where the old piece was welded. Once done insert into the hangers - or I suppose you can insert it first and then weld but the heat may melt the hangers.
I'm starting to agree with Oragex's first post on supporting the actual silencer as opposed to it's rearmost pipe since he said it was so heavy.

The wire is ghetto for sure, but it's a quick fix nonetheless.
The wire is located closer to the center of mass, its more effective there than the tailpipe.

Looking at the video above, the REARMOST bracket is Skandix PN 1017437, about 14 EUROS.
Does anyone know if you can get this in the USA?
I think FCPEuro should carry this...

I recently ordered a P.P.S. Bracket from Advance Auto. It isn't exactly the same as the above bracket as above but for $12.99 and a little modification and it should work for rear muffler tailpipe hanger.

This UK seller ships overseas https://www.ebay.com/itm/VOLVO-S60-S80- ... XQvtZQ3yQe
(Using this bracket there is a risk the tip of the muffler will break off)

Now I think about it, I will use oragex's ghetto technique bc it is better that way: suspending the muffler body rather than just the tail pipe.

I will use "metal pipe hanger", the same stuff plumbers use to suspend water pipe in the house.

- FCPEuro currently does NOT carry this.

- However IPDUSA just got this back in stock for $9.95/each + shipping. Free shipping if your total purchase > certain $___ amount.
Since this is the only item I ordered, I pay a small shipping charge.

- Have NOT installed it on my 2004 V70 yet, but I know it fits perfectly from posts in the past by others.

- Here is a photo of the PPS...IPD website says this is made in Sweden...
Quality is excellent from what I can tell...
