Hello everyone,
Dalton from Puerto Rico here. I have been reading forum articles for a while, some very informative and helpful info being shared. This is my first post. I have a 2008 C70, 64, 000 miles. Car has wandering idle, and goes into limp home mode when revved hard. Check engine light is on. When to Autozone and had it scanned. Two codes stored: P0607 and P2188. All and any help would be much appreciated. Dealer is a 3 hour drive away.
Thanks in advance
Dalton

You will need a scan with VIDA-Dice because generic P0607 can translate to 13 different Volvo DTCs. Hope it is the Gear-shift position sensor and not a ECM Internal fault.
There are other thing that can trip the codes for ECM internal faults other then the ECM, such as Air leaks and other DTCs. You really do need a scan with VIDA-DiCE to sort this one out. The only way to figure out which of the 13 the P0607 represents.
P0607 ECM-7300 Gear-shift position sensor Faulty signal
P0607 ECM-9800 Engine control module (ECM), torque signal Internal fault
P0607 ECM-9810 Engine control module (ECM), engine rpm Internal fault
P0607 ECM-9820 Engine control module (ECM), load signal Internal fault
P0607 ECM-9830 Engine control module (ECM) Internal fault
P0607 ECM-983B Engine control module (ECM) Internal fault
P0607 ECM-983C Engine control module (ECM) Internal fault
P0607 ECM-983D Engine control module (ECM) Internal fault
P0607 ECM-9840 Engine control module (ECM) Internal fault
P0607 ECM-984B Engine control module (ECM) Internal fault
P0607 ECM-985C Engine control module (ECM), fuel shut-off Internal fault
P0607 ECM-9860 Engine control module (ECM) Internal fault
P0607 ECM-9A0B Engine control module (ECM) Internal fault
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ignore the P2188 until you get the P0607 resolved.
ECM-21CD (P2188) Long-term fuel trim, idling, bank 1. Lower limit
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-21CD
Condition:
The engine control module (ECM) receives information from the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) about the fuel / air mixture. If the fuel / air mixture deviates from λ=1, the short-term fuel trim will compensate for this by adjusting the injection time so that λ=1 is achieved. When the short-term fuel trim makes an adjustment, the integrator median must be adjusted by the long-term trim. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) will be stored when the long-term trim must be adjusted almost to maximum in the idle range.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when idling.
Substitute value

You can get Chinese clones of the DiCE unit on eBay for ~$75.00.
Watch out for the scumbags that kick the decimal point one or two places to the right.
Poke around here for information on VIDA.
