Greetings.
Does anyone have experience dealing with the 960's PS line shuddering/vibration issue?
The distinctive grumbling noise which the loose pipe causes is a bit embarrassing when trying to maneuver the car in a parking lot, but seems innocuous overall apart from that. Tightening down the line's offending affixment tab looks like it involves removal of the entire bagpipe (intake manifold) to get in at the leftside engine mount; a task I am quite averse to perform...
Any input from others' experiences? Just leave it be and smile graciously at the startled onlookers???
Thanks!

Volvo addressed that with Pentosin CHF 11S synthetic power steering fluid. There were weights put on the cooler loop forward of the LF wheel that also dampened the noise and the hydraulic surge that makes the cooler loop an lines rattle. The fluid was the most successful thing they did.

@jimmy57:
Thanks for that bit of historical info. I was wondering a while back if a bit of roofing tar on the tubing loop might work: Seems like a similar fix was done with affixed weights...
Pentosin looks like a fantastic product! Found the spec's here:
http://www.pentosin.net/specsheets/Pentosin_CHF_11s.pdf
That sheet says the product is Volvo approved... Do you know if this would work on a '90 740 by chance? It's a type-F fluid context, IIRC ;o)
At any rate, thanks again!
