Shortest version:
Are there known good lug bolt replacement sources?
I'm not looking for cheap.
I prefer to dodge as many Volvo Parts Dept. overcharges as I can.
Details:
The shanks of my lug bolts are rusted to the point where they are "wasp waisted".
The working threads are in good shape.
I'm expecting to hear, "Just go to Volvo. No need to complicate things".
But has anyone had success with good aftermarket ones?
Specifying bad ones to avoid helps too.
Really silly sounding question

I just checked once source for volvo lug bolts are around $8 a pop so that's at least 320 for the car. Ouch.
have you checked any pick and pull parts locations near you. If they have any V or XC70s I bet you could grab a few bolts.
IPD seems to have a large selection of aftermarkets around $3+ a bolt. I can't comment on the quality though. They do seem to have a large selection for a 2007 V70.

Personally, I would trust IPD bolts, if they tell you a brand or country source.
Used from a southern car would likely get Volvo bolts cheaply.

If you have alloy rims, go for those with loose cones. The part number is 31373474, they're not so expensive if you avoid the dealership. A quick web search for the part number brought up an offer on eBay for Original Volvo bolts for 100$ plus shipping, 20pcs which is 5$ apiece.
That's what I'd go for.

I have a few of these, they look nice, no rust, and are very easy to torque correctly

You can gather 12 at a time from Volvos parked at Peter Paul and Mary Revival concert - leave 2 per wheel to be polite.
I have some extras if you just need a few
Wait - that revival concert may need to be a literal revival...

Hey George,
Think8ng about this on a flight delay
If the thread depth is correct, it isn’t corrosion but fastener distortion that is happening, probably from bad overtightening. I’ll swag an elastic torque for a M14 bolt at 100,000 N ( grade 8.8 dry) so that would be at about 250 Nm torque.
170 ft lbs in Imperial units used by Yemen.
