interior rear view mirror

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

interior rear view mirror

Post by rb61 »

I have the dreaded lava lamp syndrome. I have seen instructions for swapping a mirror from used vehicle, by separating the glass from the circuit board. But, I am sure I will screw it up. I don't see how I can remove the glass from the frame without gravely distorting the plastic.

I have a mirror unit from a salvage yard.
What will happen if ai simply swap the two units?
If this won't work, are there any other options?

Thanks

The Upper Electronics Module (UEM) is in the center rear view mirror. Transfer the old UEM to the new mirror.

Thanks for responding. I think I found a company that will do the repair for 99.00 (see below).

2 questions:
Will the electronics in the vehicle function properly without the mirror connected?
Does the UEM consist of the complete circuit board is just one component on the board?

Thanks again
