Hello,
I was driving down the highway today when I got a P0740 and P1618 codes and the car promply went into "limp mode." I was able to pull over, erase the code, restart the vehicle and drive it the rest of the way to work. It turned on again just as I arrived.
It appears it could be a bad shift lock solenoid, or torque converter issue, not sure. I haven't been able to scan it with my Dice unit as it's at home.
Scanning the forum there has been a few others with this problem but I have not seen any posts with a permanent solution. Just wondering if anyone has had this code and resolved it permanently?
Thanks,
Eric

I was able to scan the car with Vida/Dice and have attached a pic of the information. How difficult is it to replace this transmission solenoid? I will change the transmission fluid today to see if that can resolve it.
Any advice on what to do other than changing the transmission fluid is appreciated. Hoping this is a fixable problem as the car runs well otherwise and only has 120k miles on it.
Thanks,
Eric
