Hello Everyone!
So, after all of summer of this occurring, my idiot husband decides to tell me that, every time he goes to get gas, and unscrews the fuel cap, he hears a hissing, like pressure being released. Now, I do have an incorrect gas cap on the tank, but I kept trying ones from my stockpile until one did not set off the check engine light. But, he went to fill up today and, it being rather chilly in NY, he said the hissing was faint, like it would be on any car. Does anyone know if this is normal? It never happened to me when I drove it.

I have no check engine light, and as I get down to a quarter of a tank of gas, the car starts to smell of raw gasoline. Do I need a ventilated fuel cap? Or is it just a small leak which I'll make worse if I try to fix it?lummert wrote:EVAP system issue.
